Pragati Scholarship 2023: Pragati Scholarship scheme for girl students by AICTE, MoE for Girl Students admitted in 1st or 2nd Year of the technical degree course in an AICTE-approved institution. A maximum of two girl children per family are eligible to avail of the benefits. The benefits are provided for a period of a maximum of 4 years for first-year admitted students and a maximum of 3 years for second-year admitted students through lateral entry. This scheme is an attempt to give young women the opportunity to further their education and prepare for a successful future by empowering Women through knowledge, skill, and self-confidence.

Pragati Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The Pragati Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:

  1. The applicant must be a female student.
  2. The applicant must be either in the first year of a degree course or in the second year of the degree course through lateral entry.
  3. The total annual income of the applicant’s family, from all sources, should not exceed Rs. 8.00 lakh during the current financial year.
  4. All eligible girls who submit the online scholarship form from the following 13 Union Territories and North Eastern States will be considered for the AICTE scholarship: Andaman and Nicobar Islands (UT), Jammu and Kashmir (UT), Ladakh (UT), Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu (UT), Lakshadweep (UT), Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura.

This ensures that deserving female students from these regions have the opportunity to benefit from the AICTE scholarship program.

Exclusion Criteria

The exclusion criteria for the scholarship program are as follows:

  1. If a candidate fails or drops out in a subsequent year, she will not be eligible for further scholarship benefits.
  2. If it is discovered that the student is receiving financial assistance, such as scholarships, emoluments, salary, stipend, etc., from any other source during her course of study in the institute, the scholarship will be discontinued.
  3. The scholarship will not be granted if the time gap between passing the qualifying examination and the admission session in a degree course exceeds two years.
  4. The scholarship program applies to a maximum of two girl children per family.

These criteria ensure that the scholarship is awarded to deserving candidates who are actively pursuing their studies, are not receiving duplicate financial assistance, and adhere to the prescribed timelines for admission into a degree course.

Pragati Scholarship Apply Online 2023

The Pragati Scholarship application process is conducted online. Follow the steps below to complete your application:

Step 1:

Prepare soft copies of the required documents. Visit http://www.scholarships.gov.in/ and click on “New Registration”. Read the registration guidelines carefully and accept the terms by clicking “Continue” at the bottom of the page.

Step 2:

Fill in the Registration Form (fields marked with * are mandatory) and click “Register”. Your Application ID and password will be displayed on the screen and sent to your registered mobile number via SMS.

Step 3:

Visit https://scholarships.gov.in/fresh/newstdRegfrmInstruction and click on “Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID, password, and the provided Captcha. Click “Login”. On the next screen, enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number. You will be redirected to the Password Reset screen. Create a new password, confirm it, and click “Submit”. You will then be directed to the “Applicant’s Dashboard”.

Step 4:

On the left pane of the dashboard, click on “Application Form”. Complete the mandatory fields marked with *. Upload the required documents. You can choose to either “Save as Draft” to complete the application later or click “Final Submit” to submit the application.

Documents Required For The Scholarship Application

The following documents are required for the scholarship application:

  1. Copy of SSC/10th certificate.
  2. Copy of HSC/12th certificate (for Degree level applicants).
  3. Copy of ITI certificate (for Lateral Entry in Diploma level).
  4. Copy of Diploma certificate (for Lateral Entry in Degree level).
  5. Bank Passbook.
  6. Category Certificate.
  7. Aadhar Card.
  8. Study Certificate (Appendix-I).
  9. Annual Family Income Certificate (Appendix-II).
  10. Parent’s Declaration (Appendix-III).
  11. Bank Mandate Form (Appendix-IV).
